Although Lucadello played two years in the minor leagues as a catcher, his claim to fame was as a scout. He worked for the Chicago Cubs, 1942-54, and the Philadelphia Phillies, 1955-89. He is credited with signing fifty players who made it to the major leagues. He was their scout in the upper midwest, primarily scouting Ohio and Indiana. He also scouted Ontario and Michigan.
